Designer Babies

Background
Designer children are possibly going to make the world incredible one day. Many diseases could possibly go extinct if the creation of designer babies becomes a regular thing. People could be able to choose what traits they want their child to have. It could be anything from eye to color to removing a genetic disease that could kill the baby later on.

The first Designer baby was made in the year 2000. The baby's name was Adam Nash. The parents originally wanted the baby to save their daughter Molly who had bone marrow deficiency.
Process

Designer babies are made to get rid of any faulty DNA that could potentially harm the baby when it grows. This can reduce the amount of genetic mutations in the future if more designer babies are made.
Designer babies can help all kinds of people. They can help people who have other children that need to be saved like Adam's sister. Or they can just prevent the regular genetic diseases that parent don't want to see their child have to go through. The designer baby issue is highly controversial because many people believe that it is unethical to choose what features and genetic makeup they want their baby to have. Making a designer baby isn't a requirement, so for people who don't agree with it, they don't have to do it. They can have their babies naturally and get the luck of the draw.

-
The more people get to make designer babies, the less diverse people will become. Everyone is going to want to get good looks and great intelligence
Pros
-
Humans gain better understanding of genome editing and genetics
-
This technology would increase human lifespan up to 30 year
